070810: Systems Engineer - Application Analysis and Simulation (Erie, PA)

Description:
A Systems Engineer is needed to support our client in Erie, PA in the test and validation of an embedded software application for an onboard locomotive system. The candidate should have 1 to 2 years background in Applications Analysis, Simulation, Software, or Systems Engineering either through work experience or through extensive college course work. The product under development and test utilizes numerous algorithms, scientific calculations and a geographic track database.

The Application Analysis Engineer will be responsible for executing MATLAB and SIMULINK simulations of trains moving through a rail system and analyzing expected performance of the client's control systems. Good engineering practices and skills are important and the ability to thoroughly analyze and communicate findings verbally and through formal engineering documentation are essential to this position.

At times the engineer will investigate field issues and recreate these scenarios in the lab to analyze defects and also to work with other engineering team members to understand the issue. Some ability to develop MATLAB and SIMULINK code to augment simulations will be necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• BS minimum in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences or related field
  
• GPA of 3.0 or above
  
• Experience in Code or Script development - MATLAB and SIMULINK a plus
  
• 1-2 years experience in the field, or significant Course/Internship experience
  
• Good communications and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail
  
• Good Technical writing skills
  
• Experience or course work relevant to the software simulations
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  
• Strong engineering aptitude and scientific discipline
  
• You must be 18 years or older
  
• You must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process
  
• You must be willing to take a pre-employment drug test as part of the selection process
  
• You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
